Another bright and early start to the day with breakfast served at 6:30. Waffles shaped like the state if Texas alone with chorizo and eggs were the specials.
We hit the road for worship and devotion at the Border Mission facility. This mission started back in the early 1950s and has been going strong ever since.
The border crossing into Mexico again went smoothly – God is good!
We split up into five work groups, including three construction projects, a visit to a mens prison, and a festival preparation team. The construction projects included building a new, larger Power Ministry warehouse, building a second floor classroom in Refugio, and adding two external wing walls at the Nopalera Community Center.
Lunch at the Rio Bravo orphanage followed and included folks from other mission groups supported by Power Ministry.
A large scale festival was then held at Rio Bravo with hundreds of kids and parents attending. We put on numerous carnival type games as well as soccer and basketball. Prizes and candy were handed out generously. Refreshments including both kettle cooked popcorn and cotton candy were also served. We were assisted by about 30 high school youth who provided fantastic translation help throughout the afternoon.
We headed back across the border through a different crossing point. We got to grow our patience a bit as it took about an hour and 15 minutes to get through.
We stopped at Golden Corral for another low calorie dinner on the way home. Several guests from other Ministry groups joined us. The cooperation between the various Ministry groups is remarkable – all working together harmoniously to further God’s kingdom.
