Faith Mission. What a gem this place is in Del Rio, Texas! We we started off the day with another fantastic devotion from Tim James, the title of his message was “I’m not ashamed who I am because he made me.” we also met Pastor Tim, who runs faith mission, which has been in operation for 61 years!! Pastor Tim spoke to the men of 2024, week 2 about the mission’s storied history and he also gave us advice on how to keep your marriage going for a long time, which is simple “ Never stop treating your wife like she’s your girlfriend” I can’t wait to try this on mine when I get home!
Then off to Acuna where the men worked on three projects. 1. Building the Tierra Church, 2. Perez school cafeteria, and 3. House for Escera Family. I was lucky enough to participate in the Joy Tour hosted by Pastor Tim, he took us to his local ministry in Acuna and we met some of his fabulous employees, then we went to a local church built by Power years ago. That church is now thriving. There, the Power men gave testimonies to the local congregation and we all finished by praying individually for those who requested it.
After church we went to a village and met with approximately 60 local people, mostly children. Together we sang Bible songs, exchanged hugs and prayed for all of them. We finished our visit by giving them food, clothing, and toys. I’m so thankful for the joy tour as it was very emotional and a tremendously moving experience for me, I loved it.
